Gigs
This is where you create and manage all your performances. A 'gig' is an event where you can enable interactive features for your audience.
Creating & Configuring Gigs
Click "Create Gig" to go to the gig management page. This page contains all the settings for a single gig, allowing you to tailor the audience experience for each event.
Gig Details
This section covers the basic information about your gig.
- Name & Date: Essential information for identifying your gig. The date is used to sort gigs into "Upcoming" and "Past".
- Default Audience Tab: If you enable both Song Requests and Karaoke, you can choose which tab the audience sees first when they load the page.
- Description: A space to add a welcome message, event details, or any other information for your audience. This field supports basic HTML for formatting (e.g.,
<b>bold</b>,<i>italic</i>,<br>for line breaks). - 'Learn More' Button: A powerful feature to provide detailed information in a pop-up modal.
- Button Label: Customize the text that appears on the button (e.g., "Venue Info", "About the Show").
- Modal Content: Use the simple HTML builder to add formatted text, headers, and lists to the modal.
- Show modal automatically: If checked, the 'Learn More' modal will open automatically for every user when they first visit the page.
Interactive Features
This is where you enable and configure the interactive modules for your audience.
Song Requests
- Enable Song Requests: The master switch for the entire feature.
- Request Songbook: You must select which of your songbooks the audience can request songs from.
- Allow users to see requested songs list: If checked, the audience can see a list of songs that have already been requested and how many times each has been requested. If unchecked, they can only submit requests.
- Require payment to request a song: (Requires Stripe to be configured in Settings). If checked, users must pay the specified amount to submit a request. You can set a default price here, but you can also set song-specific prices in the Songbook editor.
Karaoke Queue
- Enable Karaoke Queue: The master switch for the feature.
- Karaoke Songbook: Select the songbook for karaoke signups.
- Queue Visibility for Users: Control what the audience sees in the queue:
- Hidden: Users only see their own sign-ups. This is useful for privacy or keeping the order a surprise.
- Anonymized: Users see the full list of songs and positions, but names of other singers are masked (displayed as "Singer"). Their own name is always visible to them.
- Public: Everyone can see all names and song choices in the queue.
- Limit song repetitions: When checked, you can set a limit on how many times a single song can be performed during the gig (combining queued and already-sung instances).
- Limit users to one song in queue at a time: Prevents a single user from signing up for multiple songs simultaneously. They can, however, "swap" their current song for a new one.
- Require payment to sign up: (Requires Stripe). Set a price for signing up. You can set different prices for individuals and groups.
- Allow tipping to skip the line: (Requires Stripe). Allows users to add a tip to their signup to move up in the queue. Tipped singers are prioritized at the top, sorted by the highest tip amount. You can set a minimum tip required to use this feature.
Other Features
- Enable Song Suggestions: This allows users to suggest songs that are not in your songbook. These suggestions are collected on the Suggestions page for your review.
- Enable Tip Jar: (Requires Stripe). Displays a prominent "Tip the Band" button on the audience page, allowing for direct tips.
Activating a Gig
To make a gig live for your audience, click the "Set Active" button on its card. Only one gig can be active at a time. The active gig is what appears at your main client URL (e.g., bandleader.app/your-client-id).
Sharing a Gig
Each gig also has its own unique, permanent URL. You can copy this from the "Share" option in the gig card's menu. This is useful for sharing a link to a future gig without changing your currently active one.
